Cascade Loop

For Heathers last trip to the Pacific North West, we decided to take a nice relaxing road trip.
Our trip took us through the Cascade Loop, encompassing the towns/cities of Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Chelan and several small towns along the loop.
The loop is approximately 400 miles long but we have seen some parts already so we skipped them.

If you want to know more about the Cascade Loop this site has all the info:

We left Thursday evening after work to spend the first night in Leavenworth

Leavenworth...
Well since we have been here before we didn't think about taking any pictures.  I guess we will have to go back sometime.
FWIW, Leavenworth is built to appear like a Bavarian village at the base of some really gorgeous mountains.
They specialize in German activities, like FOOD and festivals.
The best place to eat is King Ludwig's.
mmm, Bratwurst and Kraut and Bier...

Our second stop brought us to Cashmere.  This is were the Applets and Cotlets candy factory is.
We took a small tour and bought a bunch of candy but again forgot to take pictures until we were about to leave.

On the outskirts of Wenatchee is the Ohme Gardens.

Wenatchee...
We arrived just time for the Apple Blossom Festival.  They had a fair and a carnival so we had lunch and walked around.
I've been to plenty of fairs and this one is similar to all the others.  Not much tourist stuff to take pictures of so...

I found these deer crossing signs very amusing.

Ahhh wine tasting.
Wine tasting at the Tsillian (original tribal spelling, pronounced, shelan) Winery on Lake Chelan.

Lake Chelan
We stayed at Campbell's Resort at the very south end of the lake.
This is the view from our lake front sliding door.

We went river rafting down the Methow River.
Class 3 and Class 4 rapids.
No pictures this time as I didn't want to get the camera wet.

We hiked up the Chelan Butte.
We were in a hurry so we went straight up, as there was no real trail, just a dirt bike path.
The hill was so steep that on the way down you could surf the soft dirt in you hiking boots.

My attempt to make a panorama picture.

Frontier town of Winthrop.
Its made to look like a old west town with wooden decks and false front buildings.
