Heather's new Car
and Yes its got a HEMI...
Well Heather's old car has finally been put out to pasture. Within the last 6 months the car has gone through 3 A/C compressors, an A/C connecting hose, rear hatch, glass and paint, water pump, alternator, timing belt, ball joint, and both outer CV joints are an accident waiting to happen. Frankly, the car has almost maxed out its value even before I get the CV joints fixed. In short, time for a new car.
Well as everybody knows I am a bit of a car guy so our next car had to fulfill my requirements. That meant a good handling car with a big engine and lots of power. Heather's requirements fell into; seat around 4 people, carry a fair amount of stuff in the trunk and look cool. I narrowed the field down to two cars, '04 Pontiac GTO and '05 Dodge Hemi Magnum RT. After driving both the consensus was that although the GTO was a better sports car with 6 speed manual and a great V8, the interior quality matched its price and the trunk was almost nonexistent. The Magnum interior was of much higher quality, being a wagon the trunk area is immense and the engine is still great. It may be a "wagon" but with the taper roof it has a "chopped hot rod" look, very cool. My parents were gracious enough to pick up the car from the dealer and inspect it for a week before we were able to come down and get it ourselves.
